It is now possible to render volumetric (3D) images of your heart and arteries to enable a specially trained cardiologist or radiologist to detect calcified plaque and blockages in your arteries. A Multi-Slice CT can take multiple images within a second.  With one breath hold, the whole abdomen / heart is already scanned and finished.

Heart and cardiovascular diseases can be prevented by early diagnosis. At least one out of four people today has some form of heart disease. About half of heart attacks and strokes happen to people with no previous symptoms of cardiovascular problems.*

Other than detecting heart diseases, it also exams regions of the head, chest, abdomen and spine.  It also performs examinations like urography or virtual colonoscopy which are unavailable with single slice helical CT.   

Physicians can prescribe preventive medication and appropriate treatment, if not interventional medical procedures, to address cardiovascular problems.   Please consult your physician if a CT scan is required.
